Congratulations and welcome, to the new TKF Great Britain Team! Also known as Seiwakai England National Team.

The Great Britain Team members have access to:

  • special squad training held throughout the year
  • tuition from the best coaches in the UK and Europe
  • training in every aspect of modern sport karate
  • athlete development program
  • opportunities and help from our fundraising committee to assist in overseas competition and training costs
  • competition equipment (sponsorship dependant) including dogi, safety gear and tracksuits

The main competition we are training up for is the 42nd Japan Karate Federation Goju Kai All Japan Championships. This year’s 2 day tournament is being held in Tokyo between the 27th & 28th August 2016.

There is also, the JKF Goju Kai International Competition in Sardinia Italy, to be held on 15th May 2016. These competitions are not compulsory, but they give you the opportunity to represent your country at JKF competitions.

The GB team training will also be open to other students within the group who are interested in training up for future spots. Please be under no illusion that you may be replaced if another student demonstrates more ability and presents a greater chance of securing a decent result at competition. This, of course, goes both ways and if you do lose your place you can always work hard to get it back. There will be no favouritism within the  GB Team; we are only interested in fielding the best squad possible for every competition we enter.

We will also be preparing the TKF GB Team to compete in other competitions around the country and Europe every year and these are a vital part of development. We will also be looking at you in great detail so we can formulate individual training programs for each and every one of our GB Team members.
